Ray Sprague was the inspiration for the organization of the Maine Pegmatite Workshop. He was the person who came up with the idea of an educational program for miners and other people in Maine who were interested in learning more about pegmatites. He has worked with us for 13 years, organizing and managing the logistics of the program. We are saddened to report that on April 16 of 2019  Ray passed away at the Marshwood Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation, 33 Roger Street, Lewiston. He was a great friend and colleague who shared his love and enthusiasm for pegmatites with students and researchers from Maine and abroad. We all miss him very much.
